The Project
Aeonthera is a structured worldbuilding and publication project. The fictional world lives as a single source of truth, separate from the story drafts and the website that presents both.
Three layers, strict separation
Canon — JSON-LD documents under data/. Every entity has a stable ID (aeon:<type>.<slug>). Schema-validated, change-logged, versioned (currently v0.6.0).
Story — Manuscripts and drafts under work/. Reference canon entities by ID only. No new facts originate here.
Web — This site. Reads the canon, renders the wiki, hosts the reader, drives the companion map. Adds no facts of its own.
Post-Cyberpunk Progression Sci-Fi
Slow burn. The world is post-collapse and over-determined: three sovereign AIs run three blocs, surveillance is total but normalised, escalation is permanent. The narrative starts after humanity has already lost — and asks what the chosen are supposed to do about it.
LitRPG elements: the chosen carry an interface, levels, abilities. The system is real, mostly silent, occasionally instructive. It is not a game.
Bootstrap phase
Canon v0.6.0 · 44 entities · last updated 2026-05-26.
The reader is empty until chapters are released. The wiki and companion map already reflect everything in the canon.
Who writes what
Author — ideas, story impulses, direction, final reading and release.
Claude — refinement, canon maintenance, documentation, briefings, review.
Codex — drafts chapters from structured briefings. Never writes to canon directly.
